I fell in love with my best friend and I couldn’t tell him

I am shaking as i type this two years two wh0le years i’ve loved chike and never said a word every love you bestie was a lie with the truth hiding inside it tonight i said no more hiding i wore the red dress he once joked looked like trouble.

i practised the words the entire ride to his place chike i’ve been in love with you since that rainy day in 2023 he opened the door smiling too bright dee baby, come meet someone and there she was Jane 

beautiful soft laugh his hand already on her waist like it was made to stay there this is my girlfriend  everything inside me just… broke quietly but i smiled hugged her told her i loved her braids they’re actually perfect she’s kind she’s funny she looks at him the way i always wished he’d look at me i hate that i like her we sat on the same couch we used to fall asleep on now she was in the middle and his fingers were in her hair when i left he walked me to the car.
